300 crore from HUDCO for police resedential accommodation – Haryana News

Chandigarh, November 8 –Haryana Government has given nod to the Police Department to take loan amounting to Rs 300 crore from HUDCO to accelerate the pace of Awas Yojna. Modern Police lines would be constructed at Mewat and Palwal with this amount.
It was stated by Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today while presiding over the Passing out Parade of the first batch of Chandigarh 1st India Reserve Battalion at Police Training College, Sunarian district Rohtak.
Mr Hooda said that residential accommodations were also made available for the police. As many as 570 residential accommodations had been made available in the districts of Gurgaon and Faridabad only and 2663 in the rest of the state since 2005, he added.
Mr Hooda said that special emphasis was being made to make the police force more capable and competent. At present there were three India Reserve Battalions in the state and recruitments were in the process for forth Reserve Commando Battalion. The present Government had recruited 8200 constables besides a large number of sub inspectors and inspectors. The recruitment for the post of 7659 was in process.
He said that the State Government was committed to make Haryana Police as the top most police force of the country. It was indeed necessary for the modern and developed Haryana to equip its force with latest technology, hence a large sum of amount had been provided for the modernization of Haryana Police. In future also sufficient funds would also be made available for this purpose. Cyber Crime Laboratory had been set up at Madhuban which was the first of its kind in northern India and sixth in the country. It would greatly help in nabbing the criminals. The forensic laboratory of Haryana Police also had a distinctive identity in this part of the country. The facility of DNA test was also available in the laboratory. Sufficient number of vehicles had also been made available to the force and City Monitoring System would also be launched in the big cities of the state. For the empowerment of women, ten percent reservations had been made for them in the police force.
He said that the grant to the families of the police personnel attaining martyrdom fighting with terrorists while on duty had been increased to Rs ten lakh and to the injured police personnel in such incidents to Rs five lakh. There was a scheme to open one Police Public School in each district for imparting quality education to their children. At present five of the districts have such schools. He announced to give Rs three crore for the Police Public School at Sunarian.
The Chief Minister congratulated the recruits for their hard work and dedication and urged them to serve the people with utmost sincerity as they join the police force. The Chief Minister lauded the efforts of Director General of Police, Mr Ranjiv Dalal and the trainers and officers of Sunarian. He also congratulated the constable Krishan Chand, Deepak Kumar and Sandeep Kumar for securing first, second and third position in the training.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General of Police, Mr Ranjiv Dalal said that in the first batch as many as 460 recruits had been given training. Most of the recruits belonged to rural areas. In the nine months of training, they have been given training on the responsibilities of Police force besides disseminating them the information on legal matters. They had been sensitized towards the need of the people.
The Chief Minister appreciated Constable Satvinder and Sub Inspector Virbhan for the Yoga show in the function and announced to promote Constable Satvinder to the post of Sub inspector.
