When you move into an apartment you may have to go into a studio apartment, these places are a bit hard to decorate and make the apartment look nice and not too crowded.

A studio apartment is perhaps the smallest and the most difficult to decorate. The very first thing you will have to do is to split the studio apartment into different sections. Using a strong wood and fabric screen will serve to offer you a lot of privacy at the same time afford you a lot of room and light. Placing hooks in the shelf would be a good idea to hang the cups by the handles. Then comes eating area and it may be a good idea to have a drop-down plank of wood about 2.5 feet by 2 feet hinged to the wall. This can serve as an eating table as well as a working counter. When it is not in use it can be folded up against the wall to save space.

Now for the sleeping area; many a great mind has come up with innovative ways to save space. If the studio apartment is really small and you are not the type that needs a bed at odd hours of the day, you could consider a folding bed that can fold up against the wall. The underside of the bed could have a long picture to add to the decor when the bed is up against the wall. This is another great space saving device. Just drop it down and your bed is ready to jump into.

Now you will have friends over once in a while so you will have an area that is probably separate from where you sleep. If you have room a small sofa may work but think about getting some of the bean bag chairs out there or even a soft fluffy rug that will be comfortable to sit on. Making the rug something that will bring across your personality will work well in designing your studio apartment.
